Skoda Body Parts!

Featured Replies

Just had a word with the 'menders' to see how my car is coming along and was informed that they were on the "third front wing" ordered from Skoda Parts as the previous ones were all damaged??? Aparantly this is a normal occurrance with parts coming from Skoda and I wanna know why?

Cause they still make wings from metal. How old hat is that. Just get the bodyshop to order 6 then return the bad ones.

Thats piggin awful!

I hope it's not going to delay things Steve.

Neither do I, I don't fancy going to the Kent meet in a Ford Ka!!!!

Suppose you could always jump in with us.

Thanks for the offer but wer'e staying at me mams anyway

Ok.

Don't really blame you... i wouldn't fancy going anywhere in a Ford KA(K). lol

Tis is bit stupid that they cant even deliver a wing without damage... they never heard of bubble wrap!?

Probably the delivery vans don't use Barrier Cream either

Hope you get it sorted soon

what has barrier cream got to do with anything??

hope it gets sorted soon though steve :)

Ford Ka was the testbed for the Puma's chassis and someone once told me you could drive it everywhere at 90% throttle

Hope it gets sorted soon!

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Never mind Steve just think, by the time you get your car back the repairs will have paid for themselves in saved fuel bills:P

But that's hardly going to shred the tyres, is it?

a standard KA isn't massively quick, the sport cars go quite well but no they aren't the quickest things in the world but are good handlers.

the fiesta was the bed for the puma chris not the Ka :P (unless of course the fiesta shares its platform with the Ka)

As you know, Ben, I know nooothing! Just passing on what I was told by a Ka owner who works closely with the Ford chassis engineers :D

Chris

I know what you mean about skoda parts Steve :(

A friend of mine had a KA and i thought it was really bad! Apart from the nippyness and flingability... the engine was tappety, all the carpets were coming up on the edges, plastic trim was falling off eveywhere, her heaters were stuck on hot all the time, the clock and stereo eventually failed and to top it all off her cv joints needed replacing!

Hope you get your car back soon...

Im a bit confused about the barrier cream bit too... would that help protect the body parts? I dont understand! hehe

barrier cream is a substance you rub into your hands like hand cream before starting work to stop the oil and dirt sticking and soaking into you skin, it also adds moisture that constant washing takes away from mechanics.

your friend sounds like she either had a bad car or one that had been abused, but yes the 1.3 would have been a bit rattly sounding as its a very old design of engine, only minor modifications in something silly like 40 years of use!

Sounds about right, took me 4 attempts to get a Felicia bonnet, I even watched the delivery driver drop one on its end as he unloaded it. It's lucky that you aren't waiting for something fragile like a windscreen. Hope they don't run out of front wings before you get a good one. They probably factor the cost of that wasteage into the parts price.

All the same platform :)

I tried a KA when they were just launched, might have bought it but dealer offer was cr@p :(

Nimble, but little power.

You're wasted here Val

Couldn't resist - but, as I said, best of luck to Steve in getting it back soon.
