Cage mod on vRS

Featured Replies

I've used the search function, but it seems hazy.

What is the cage mod exactly and how is it done?

:thumbup:

It's simply putting some dielectric silicone grease on the electrical contacts in the MAF plug. Did it on the Mondeo but not really convinced it's made any real difference so maybe it only works on the Fabia :D

Why is is called a cage mod though? LOL

Spray some contact cleaner on it first....

Then put some grease on it.

I took vrs180s advice and did;

Coil packs

Maf

N75

Throttle sensor

I'm sure it's the guy's name who originated the idea in USA.

Well my car feels a little juddery under 1.5k now, it might be all in my head though...

Modding is fun.... not.

I did all that Ethos did and a few more sensors.Made no difference to my hesitation,although it maybe a little smoother from cold.Unless its all in my head.

Yea, I think mind games play a big part in that sort of thing :D
