Will Octavia 2 alloys fit my mk1 vrs

Featured Replies

As title really, was wondering if the 18" MK2 vrs alloys would fit straight on my MK1 vrs. I think there about the best looking wheels to suit the shape seeing as the MK1 and MK2 are very similar.

Sadly not, the PCD and ET are different :thumbdwn:

Perhaps with adaptors it could work. Mk1 and 2 have PCDs of 100 and 112 respectively. So 100>112 adaptors would solve that.

ET (offset) on a Mk1 is around 35, IIRC. But what for Mk2 - low 50s? If so, a 20mm thick adaptor would increase the offset accordingly, and bring the Mk2 wheel out nearer the edge of the arch on the Mk1.

A bit of thinking out loud really, but checking those details out might prove worthwhile :)

Also, can't imagine Mk2 rims on a Mk1. Get someone to 'shop them onto an image too!

..............in other words, a lot of faffing around to 'make' them fit but is it really worth it when there are so many other options with the correct PCD and ET?

I wouldn't disagree, but with a bit of investigation it could just be down to getting the right thickness of adaptor.

Down to the OP to decide how much he likes the Mk2 vRS wheel design :)

Think out aloud all you like if your going to come up with good info like that;) Where could i buy adaptors to suit or is it a case of getting some made to order? As for photo chop, computers really arent my thing and wouldnt know where to start. So imagination will have to suffice for me:)

Adaptors should be obtainable 'off the shelf'. You just need to find out what the ET/offset figure for the Mk2 wheels is. Then you can see what thickness of adaptor is best.

If you post a side-on photo of your car, I'm sure someone with skills will pop the Mk2 wheels on the image for you.
