how much is it worth to you?

Featured Replies

hey guy's,

The insurance, Tax, and MOT are due in around 4-5 months.

And its really expensive to run on my wages.:thumbdwn:

so looking to change in a couple of months

So how much do you recon I should advertise my felly for on AUTOTRADER.

THIS IS NOT AN ADVERT!

Bearing in mind its a Laurin and Klement.

N reg 1996

blue green purple mettalic paint

14" bbs alloy wheels - L & K standard

ABS

colour coded bumpers

foglights

sunroof

1.6 AEE golf / polo engine

electric windows / mirrors

leather seats

heated seats

leather steering wheel, handbrake and gearstick, and door panels.

73K miles - V.good for the age

3 Owners from new, 2 from the same family and in the family for 10 years.

towbar

roofbars - estate model

has MOT and TAX also a new tyre fitted.

there is rust on the boot door, but this is perfectly normal for a estate felly

hasnt got PAS or AC:rolleyes:

I spoke to a car dealer today and obviously he loved the car,:D with the extra's its worth alot, but the age does bump it down, and a normal felly in his little book would be worth very little.:(

So what do you guy's think would be a good asking price?

tell you what, i'd start it a £2000

You might get £750 if your lucky :(

Pity it aint got PS or ABS.

I reckon circa £700-900 depending on condition, and the victim who comes to buy it:rofl:

I think it depends very much on the person parting with the money. Unfortunately I don't think the general public would appreciate the car (it's a Skoda), so that would leave you with those looking for something at the cheap end of the market with a little more luxury (but not to get a petrol guzzling or expensive to tax, insure and repair ford granada for example), or Skoda enthusiasts.

If I had the money, depending on the condition of the rusting tailgate, I would probably be willing to get out 800-900 myself. If I saw the car in the flesh and the condition struck me as really good I might be willing to get more out. It's a shame I don't have much money (and you're over 250 miles away anyway :) ) at the moment otherwise I'd have genuinely been interested myself.

yeah see thats what i was afraid of,

people just don't know how good skoda's are!

people need to be more aware of such a good set of cars.

Oh its got an airbag too

To be honest id be happy with anything above £1000

obviously offers could be done.

I've just looked on autotrader and they have a normal felly priced up at £1999

actually there are some with really high mileage on there for about £1300+

By the way how much are 1.2 fabia's, the early ones?

actually there are some 98 model fellys with higher mileage on there for about £1300+

There's your answer then :)

Are you going to be able to find anything cheaper to tax and insure than the felly? How much are you looking at for both?

My 98 model GLXi 1.6 I bought for £745 with a FSH and 75k miles

Had 7 months tax and MOT at time of purchase

(Although the insurers would have given me £1100 had I decided I didnt want a bent panel repairing after it got "side swiped" and that was April this year.

Thing is sometimes the extra gizmos don't add to the value. But yours has the ABS.

Mines prob still worth £700 as its well kept despite the mileage

I'd say stick it for £1200 and see what you get offered. But you'd be lucky to get £800 to be honest.

I'd say if the rust is fairly minor and the cars in good cond with everything working you can get £1k

Up to £800 for an average one

Part-ex or dealer the most they'll pay is £500 max maybe less to get a good margin.

You got any piccies? and has it got a full service history and things?

Giving a good clean before any buyers look at it is handy as well as keeping a record for any work done to the car.

Mines not the cheapest car to run but its not the most expensive either with reasonable costs for parts and servicing.

and it's ok for insurance with me being a more "mature" person at 26

yeah full service history,

I'm running a bike and a car, im only 19.

The bike is no problem but the car will be when it all hits me in april:(

the tax on the car is £185 a year the bike is £36 a year:eek:

The mot it should fly through, I can get 6months tax, but the insurance is about £105 a month which is alot since i only work part-time.

And im only really using the car for getting to work at night and in the cold, rain and snow. (car hasnt been in snow yet)

Yeah tax is a major headache coming in just over the 1.5 bracket.

£175 last year and £180 this year compared to my sister £115 for a 1.0 Micra

Fuel and Insurance is hard enough on me working full time let alone part time hours PLUS a bike.

Have we managed to give realistic numbers for a selling price?

Ebays a good place. But wait for a free motors listing day first.

Watch out for loads of spam mails too when advertising on Auto Trader. They were my major headache when I put a Nissan Sunny belonging to my Dads BIL on there.

Car got sold to banger racer in the end. Fitting end since it leaked and was rusting

the only people who will look at a L&K with any discernment are Skoda enthusiasts. You wont get any more than a standard estate really, although the 1.6VW helps things. I'd expect £500-£800 for it, honestly.

Im with you on that one SS, £500 to £800 to a skoda lover
