Moon Mileage

Featured Replies

Ok I was panicking earlier about clutch slip after a remap. But we also have had a few people asking about 2nd hand VRSs with high mileages, and I'm planning on keeping mine for 4+ years.

So...How about a long term reliability thread ?

Whats you mileage ? Anyone done the 100K yet ?

If so what went wrong, what didn't, what did you replace etc.

ColG is the only one on her to cross the 100k barrier I think. He's documented things which have needed fixing in addition to routine maintenance (but I can't remember what the thread was called....... :o

Chris

Neo_VR has done over 100k in his vRS - My vRS engine has now done nearly 60k, and the chassis has done over 100.

I've not had to replace very much at all.

Im bored yes the Moon is 238900miles away! HA HA HA!

Most PD130 engines will run and run, keep good maintenance (sp?) and you'll be fine.

There's not many common problems with that engine to be honest one of VAG's more reliable ones.

Cheers.

neo_vr has more than 100k on his.....

I did 80k in about 18 months before I sold, my clutch was fine (and teching learners all that time) but it was only putting out about 150bhp..... my repairs in that time were as follows

1)40,000 new gearbox, mounting frame, driveshafts (long story, but I doubt it will effect you)

2)60,000 new control arm bushes

3)65,000 new EGR valve (was leaking oil)

thats all. :)

edit: everyone els beat me to the neo bit! lol... he may post in a bit...

Sorry :o

The moon's orbit is not perfectly circular. So you need to set off when it's a bit closer and save a few £1/litre fill-ups :D
