Revo remap - Dump Valve

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I've had a Revo remap and want to know what the benefits are with changing the standard DV for better one, and if so which one would I go for and how much ££ am I looking at? Also, is it worth chanhging any other parts to get the most out of the remap without breaking into my overdraft too much!!

Cheers,

Gary.

Only one benefit - noise! You'll see no noticable benefit in performance but you will get an audible 'phtsssshh' when you back off the loud pedal :D

Only two choices imho Forge or Bailey, both make a quality DV but Forge would be my personal preference, cost will be around the £90-£100 mark.

If you hav'nt already done so, also consider changing the OEM panel filter to aq performance one from either K&N or Green Cotton, cost about £40.

I get an audible Psssshhhh now......could it be that there is already a different DV fitted then or would the standad DV make that noise? Reason i'm asking is because I bought the car off someone who had the Revo remap done so can't be 100% sure if the DV was changed when the remap was done.....and the guy I bought the car from didn't really have a clue what had been done anyway!!

reliability is why ppl upgrade to these. forge do a lifetime guarantee with theirs. have a look on ebay mate

A quick look under the lid should show you. Forge and Bailey are normally shiny - OEM is black plastic.

Stupid question, butr where should I be looking?? :o

Under the 'bulge' in the black plastic engine cover. Mine's the standard one and works fine.

Do you get that 'pssshhh' sound with the standard DV?

Yea you do, even more so when remapped though.

Yeah, as mentioned, but louder. Sounds quite nice!
