vRS engine oil

Featured Replies

new member, new-to-me vRS July 05, 13,000 miles.

My Service Schedule book (2004 date) gives (p9) VW 506 01 as the spec for PD engines.

The list posted by DGW names VW 505 01.

Is this the latest list? For other cars I've used and quite like Millers oils as they do diesel specific types.

Shell Helix, if so which one?

Forgive me if the info is already out there; I'm better with a spanner than a mouse!

You could always buy the quantum oil from the dealer.

I use millers XFE-PD, about £25 for 5 litres, I have use millers oils for the last 10 years without problems.

Thanks guys!

Miller's XFE-PD it is - now £30.99 for 5 litres which is a lot less than dealer's quote of 5 litres @ £11, not even sure if that includes Vat.

Apologies to DGW for confusing matters re long life servicing. Did the vRS servicing book set out to confuse deliberately, or did it just turn out that way?

My wife (it's her car really) was chased and harassed by a guy in something fast today (not a Skoda) on A1120 near Stowmarket. Is it easy to de-badge at the rear?
