1.9TDI EU3 or EU4??

Featured Replies

Sorry if this has been discussed before (I'm a newbie!)

I'm picking up my 55 plate Octavia 1.9TDI on Saturday and have been wondering about whether it is EU3 or EU4 compliant. Reading up, I think this engine was only EU3 when the Octy 2 launched but was EU4 with the DSG option. But I think I've read that the latest versions of the engine are EU4. My question is, when did this changeover take place? Was it only in the 07 updates? Is it for this reason also that the 1.9TDI is now 132g/m3 for CO2 rating whereas it was previously 143g/m3??

I'm just curious where my car will fall into.

i think 06 as that is when the fabia gained a stutter from the EU4 changes.

Band C is 121 to 150 g/km so either way you'll currently pay £115 per annum.

According to the link below the change to EU4 was wk45/November 2006.
