Heated seats stopped working

Featured Replies

The heated seats on my mums Fabia have stopped working. Is there a particular fuse for the heated seats and does it control anything else so that I can isolate the problem? Hope it's a fuse anyway.

The heated driver's seat on my Fabia packed up at 53k miles. Apparently it was the heating element, although I'm not sure if it was back or base - both were apparently replaced.

Fuse for seat heaters is 63 (Fabia-vrs.com - Fuse Panel Layout) but I'd expect that to stop both seats working. Also worth checking the wires going into the seats.

Thanks for that.

I've asked her to check whether the passenger seat heating is working which I guess would tell me whether it's likely to be just the fuse.

They were working fine up to then but she's just had the car jump started and the battery replaced and I wonder whether a fuse got blown somewhere in that process.

Do you remember how much roughly it cost you to have the heating elements replaced?

I was lucky enough to get it done under warranty before I picked the car up so no idea of cost, I'm afraid. I know that they took the seat out to do it (because they f***ed up the bolt thread when they refitted it ) and the covers had to come off to get access to the elements. Hopefully one of the guys with access to the parts prices will be able to let you know the cost of the elements themselves.
