Opinions On Octavia Silverline 1.9TDi??

Hi All.

New on here.. Just looking for general opinions on the Octavia Silverline (2003) with the 1.9 TDi engine. Looking at buying one at 4k with 98k on the clock. Have come from an Astra (2001 1.7 DTi) so it should be more powerful than that! lol!

Would this engine be tuneable with a re-map? I believe it is the 90bhp.

Thanks In Advance

Jamie

they are absolutely fine not the quickest car but they definitely great on the motorway still with some poke.

when I occasionally drive my dad's 90 bhp it definitely does not feel under powered because what it does not have in bhp it makes up for by the tork.

the 90 engine is a great motor that will run and run.

I would not worry about the power of 90 TDI. now may be the SDI is a bit underpowered but there are plenty of taxi drivers who are very happy with them

I was a bit concerned with the 90 GLX TDi I've just got. To be honest it feels quicker than the wife's 100 Furby, but maybe that's becuase the sound insulation is better and I rev it a bit more... The Furby is 57k and the Octy 67k

Thanks for the advice guys.. been used to the astra forums and you guys are just as friendly and knowledgable!

Hopefully will get to test drive the Octy soon, but the guy that owns the garage it is in never seems to be there at the mo!

Will definitly get it remapped thou.. have a VAG tuning specialist just down the road from where i live and used them for a rolling road day i organised with my last club and seemed really good.
