Poor cold starting...

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

I've recently noticed on my car that it takes a while for it to start when cold, and am having to operate the starter for about 5-7 Seconds recently.

Any ideas what this could be? Am hoping its not the cold start valve as I don't fancy spending £90+ on one and then having to get it fitted!

No ideas then guys?

Might just have to take it to have diagnostics done. :\

:)When was it last serviced? Does it run OK after it's started? Coolant temperature sensor is the first thing other than plugs and filters that springs to my mind.

It was last 'serviced' by Parkside when I bought it in August.

Once started it runs ok, but if you turn it off again shortly after its a pain again to start until it is warm.

One thing I have noticed is the canister on the right of the engine isn't clicking? Does it not click when the engine is cold? :)

Blooming cars! They don't see to like me.

Does anyone have any ideas? Or experience of poor cold starting on an Octy?

:)No, usually only when the engine has warmed up.
