I can remember reading some where that the 2.0PD engine with DSG can't be re-mapped because the clutches can't handle the torque.

Is this correct.

It's just that I've seen one in my price range but I will be wanting to re-map in the future.

yeah the DSG has much lower torque limits than the manual or normal auto's but a quick google should find the normally accepted limits and then see if its worth remapping as with a custom map they could keep under this torque limit yet gain decent power by gaining more torque at the top end

They can be remapped, and its well worth it !!

All the mapper has to do is peg back the old lb/ft (I think 180 lb/ft is the max limit).....

think max recommended torque for the DSG is 250lb/ft and standard 2.0tdi is 236

Nm -> lb ft = multiply by 0.7376

lb ft -> Nm = multiply by 1.3558
