Door out of alignment ?

Featured Replies

Hello

My drivers door shuts 2-3mm further in than my drivers side passenger door.

It looks like I've had a bad repair job although it's never been touched.

What is the best way to get this realigned please?

It might just be the door striker-plate needs moving a mill or two; its usually held in place by a couple of big cross-head screws, the thing the door lock engages with on the pillar.

Unfortunately I've looked at this (silver 'u' shaped bit right?) and it's held on with the biggest torx heads I've ever seen, and i don't have the right bits.

Thanks for the heads up on the right bit to fix though, I'll let you know how I get on.

I've seen this on two door golfs in the past. The doors are so heavy that after a while the hinges start to deform.

Mind you this is on 6 or 7 year old cars though.
