Featured Replies

does anyone else have this problem?

i hav octavia vrs 2006 and the entertainment controls and speedo/rev dials etc are not illuminated. as a result when its dark i hav to turn headlights on to see whats on the radio/cd and check info on trip comp. is this a fault or is it standard feature for this model?

Check your radio manual, as I'm sure I turned on an option for the radio illumination on my Mk2 elegance.

The speedo/rev counters on most cars need lights to see them when light fades :)

Auto lights rock!

Check that the dimmer switch is correctly selected as well (not turned down low). Surely if the light is so low that you can not read the dials then you should have your headlights on anyway? With the radio there is a option to have in illuminated at all times.

Do you mean that regardless of the cars lights being on or off, the dashboard is illuminated? A few modern cars do have permanent dash lights - my last Avensis had it and I think the Leon did too.

The first car I had that did this makes you think if you have your lights on or not as in the past the dash lights would only come on with the lights.

I do find the Octy dash to be ok in lower light, with the white dials and needles but if you can't see the dash then probably best to have at least side lights on, maybe headlights.

I presume your Octy does have auto lights?
