Remap and warranty work

Featured Replies

I think a wheel bearing is on its way out. Its making a noise and I am going to take it to the dealers.

My question is will they try to refuse this work is they realise I have a remap?

I understand that there is a chance this will happen, but has anyone had any experience with a knackered wheel bearing + remap and going to the dealers?

I could have the remap taken off and put back on for free but its hassle!

I think its only things that would be affected by the remap tbh, eg turbo etc...

you should be fine with a wheel bearing

shouldn't be any problems getting a wheel bearing changed under warranty , just don't mention the remap , and don't leave any fuel in the car, that way they will be less likely to road test it

Although the engine drives the wheels so they could argue that the wheel bearing is undergoing more stress because of the remap. Someone on here had his seat base refused on that basis, until he involved Skoda CS

My take would be to be honest with them, but not to volunteer any information unless asked. Also remember that Skoda UK do read this forum so make sure you don't go publishing too much identifying information about yourself ;)
