I rate the Falken FK-452's quite highly too, but I do drive everywhere like a Grandad ;):D

On the subject of tyres anyone tryed Vredestein tyres the ultrac range? They get some good write up's just wondering if anyone has had them and there views?

Toyo T1R :) They're excellent.

Or Goodyear Eagle F1's if they are available, the things are like limpets

Do Firestone do a tyre that fits the VRS, and if so are they any good?

my friend has the vredestien on his merc a-class, and he says they are way better than the original conti's, especially good in the wet

I wasn't able to find one, but the parent company is Bridgestone so you might find the tyre technology will be shared.

Although to be fair, driving on bare rims would be way better than the conti's ;)

The Roadie's currently fitted with Pilot Sports (205/40/17 F,225/35/17 r) and they're fantastic in the dry. They seem to offer significantly better grip than other Roadies equipped with Contis or Toyos... That said, the demands and loads placed on the tyres are completely different to those on a Fabia. Wet and snow performance is ok but not startling, but again noticeably better than those cars with Toyos and Contis.

When I had my Fabia I found the Contis offered surprisingly good grip in the dry until they were about 40% worn, at which point the grip fell off pretty quickly. They were never much cop in the wet

lol... I like the comments about the conti's, I wonder why they are fitted as OE when they never seen to get a good review? I had them as OE on the vRS, and as steve said, at about 3 mill the grip just dissapeared!

I had bridgestone potenza's as OE on the GP , and they were WAY better...... after changing the fronts twice, I'm going to get potenza's back on the front if I can afford it....

Yeah my conti's on the front just had no grip at all with about 2.5- 3mm scary! Had to put them on the back for now until i get some new ones.

If ride comfort is high on your list of attributes then Falken 452's wouldn't disappoint. They're also good in wet and dry though TBH I don't take them near the limits.

I had Bridgestone Turanza ER300's when I bought the car, however have since changed to Toyo T1R's. Prefer the Toyo's, they are cheaper, look nice, and I think perform better.
