VRS Testing Engine Electronics (Right Side) Light Staying On. Advice Needed.

Featured Replies

Hey guys, well before i start the thread - Happy New Year to you all and all the best for 2008!!

I got into my Octavia this morning and all was good untill my Testing Engine Electronics light came on the dash (the light on the right had side - NOT EBC on the left side)

I've not noticed any reduction in power and the car is still running smooth etc. BUT, i really don't want to run the risk of damaging any components etc etc so is it a case of taking it down to a main dealer or VW specialist for them to have a gander at it?

It's times like these i wish i could do my own work on cars!!

Also, is this going to be an expensive fix? Probably the worst time of the year it could happen!!

Sods law, you've got to love it!

Cheers :)

Check the brake lights, it could be blown bulbs. If these are Ok you will need a fault code read, but I suspect that it may be an implausible signal from the switch.
