Octavia VRS Service Costs. How Much? Not Main Dealer.

Featured Replies

Hey guys, my VRS Octy will be in need of a service shortly and seeing as it's not under any warrenty now, im going to look to get it done from a garage (probably a VW specialists) rather than get my eyeballs pulled from my skull and go to Skoda.

I'm just wondering are these cars expensive to keep maintained through servicing etc?

I know it would probably be much easier in me actually ringing the garage and having a discussion with them but hey that would be too easy now wouldnt it :)

So i thought i'd ask you lot to see what your thoughts and experiences of the above are!

Cheers

Would help to know what part of the country you are in as there are some very good VAG garages around the UK we can recomend!

I live in Guisborough which is very close to Middlesbrough, Redcar, Stockton etc.

I always used Volkswork in Middlesbrough when i owned a Seat Ibiza 2.0l 16v GTI Cupra Sport and they seemed really good. The engine wasn't as technical as the VRS mind.

Cheers

mmm true

I know that labour costs can vary quite a bit

But they are not bad for serviceing

We do a full service for £170.00 + VAT and that is not a bad price

The parts that are requiring replacing are not too bad too

Just remember that they are the same platform as a MK4 Golf so you could go to GSF or the likes of Euro for cheaper than dealer parts too

Sarah

Im at Awesome on Saturday for a full service.

I highly recommend these guys.

Cheers for the feedback folks.

I don't want to sound stupid here but where is Awesome GTI?

£170 + VAT seems a good price.

Cheers

Hi

Yes Multon is all a regular now ;)

We are just between M6 and M60 just down from the Trafford centre so it is easy to get to

I love the vRS`s too , my dream car ;)

or DIY :)

Just been quoted £180. for a variable service with long-life oil and a brake fluid change.

Thats at a VAG specialist. Didn't think it was too bad....

I was £124 for the above at Star Performance last year. I know this is not relevant to the OP but it gives an idea of the costs around the country.

LOL Stars prices have went up. I was £125 in December all in. :)

last service i had came to £240ish.

included breather hose and a small vacuum hose that had perished, filters, oil etc

Skoda/Saab specialist. thought it was a bit pricey and the work was shoddy.

might go awesome next time since their only 30mins away.

can i wait while im being serviced sarah?

Hello Pete

I also live in Guisborough (half the time) and although I do my servicing myself now, I use Phil @ Elite (behind the old Teesside Audi building in Mandale triangle) for more complex jobs. He is an EX Audi technician and has now set up as a VAG specialist on his own. He's a really helpful/knowledgeable bloke and his prices are very good.

I don't work for him, I'm just a very satisfied customer!).

I tried Volkswork but wasn't impressed with their attitude/pricing.

Cheers for the replys.

VRSPhil, i've just sent you a PM asking if you were from G'bro. Guess you've answered my question!

It's good to hear from someone from my hometown. Ill defo check that garage out!

Cheers

Replied :D

Guys,

Everybody seems to slate the main dealers for prices but I honestly they are more competative these days, and at least with main dealer they are more likely to do a good job.

In any case i've had plenty done to my VRS and i'm really happy with the work done and customer service.

By the way, the garage is FAINTREE in Bridgnorth

All Electric Skoda approved on the other hand, well thats another story......

Cheers'

Marc
