New Skoda owner

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I'm new here having just bought an Octavia 1.8T (53) with full Skoda service stamps (last service done by the dealer I bought the car from). It's done 48,000 and because it's 4 years old I'm going to get the timing belt, tensioners and water pump replaced. I've been quoted £393 incl. VAT from local Skoda dealer and I know other people have talked about prices but is there a big difference between dealers' prices and can I get it done cheaper anywhere else? Is it wiser to stick with Skoda dealers?

Thanks

Hi all and thanks for the welcome messages,

as a new and first-time proud owner of an Octavia 1.8T Elegance I was wondering if anyone can advise me on getting a spolier for the boot? Also, I'm considering getting it remapped and wondered if anyone knew of a good mobile service that can come to my work in Epping, Essex, so my long-suffereing partner doesn't get wind of my horse-powered intentions. I don't want to race like a loon (I have a baby boy to consider) but I would like to know that when I'm out on my own I can have some sensible driving fun ;) and, I've heard that when I'm in Dad mode it will improve fuel economy. Any advice appreciated. Cheers!!

jigger 72 there may be more help forthcoming if you post on the Octy forum, and try a search. Self, just potter around ensuring I miss obsticles that come my way so cant help but others will...welcome
