Superb is superb!!

Featured Replies

Got a taxi home last night and it was a tdi superb and i was well impressed with the interior even had little lights the lit up the door handles plus a centre display in the middle of the dash! Makes my vrs look very plain :( though it was a fair bit newer then mine. Also drove very well might have get one of these for my next car!

i borrowed a elegance 2.0tdi the other day and i would love to get some beefy wheels and lowering suspension on there to stiffen up the ride a bit. its a bit wallowy for me standard. but apart from that its a minter! i love all the little details, leds in the mirrors, "cat lights" sat nav, lush leather seats etc D:

Yeah! just been looking at the 2.5 v6 tdi's on auto trader alot of car for small money and 160bhp with shed loads of torque!! Im really tempted, may have to drive one probaly be a lot softer ride then my vrs but is a different sort of car.

Man! All of you just brighten my day!! It's not really easy to get good comments on this car, as it used as a taxi here. The mentality here is if it's use as a taxi then it's nothing great.. hiaz..

I like mine so much, I think I'm gonna buy the company:rofl:

They are a very understated car and having 'tweaked' mine a little the ride it so much better and the amount of attention it gets is huge as people just don't know what it is.......having said that there are more and more of them on the roads nowadays....

it is a heck of allot softer than the vrs, but with a little tweaking it can be very good indeed :D

You're right there, I can't argue with that. What you have done is very tasteful indeed.

I'm really missing the Superb now:weeping:

the 2.5 tdi is nice, but if you want performance get the 130bhp tdi and remap it, I did it to mine and managed to out drag a stock VRs and blitz a 2.2Tdi Honda Civic, you might not get the handling, but you would be surprised how quick you can peddle along the superb, even on stock 16"s! :P

Simon, those side lights in the bumpers, are they amber or clear, and how much were they?

Thx in advance.

Where did you get yours chipped? Have you had any problems (I know about the potential clutch issues)? Did it affect your warranty, or was your car over 3 years old anyway?

Sorry for the thread hijack.

Does every Superb have an umbrella?

I'm going to be test driving one. Are they relatively easy to drive despite being quite large?

Should have an umbrella in the rear passenger door, though wouldn't be surprised if many are missing. They can be had from Skoda for £25 (or is it £35)? Cheaper than have been seen on Ebay!

Dead easy to drive. The only issue really is parking as it's quite long. Not huge - only 10cm longer than a Passat.

The lamps legally have to be amber when illuminated but you can have black, clear or amber lenses on the lamps themselves and then can be sourced through me via PM....

I believe that any Superb with a spec Comfort and above comes with the Umbrella...

They are very easy to drive and the size of the car is not a problem.....

Not 100% sure about the Classic, but all the rest had, but check for it as a lot of them go walkies. (passenger side rear door 'armrest')

That depends on what you are used to, if you have always driven small cars then yes it will take a while to get used to the size, but they are very easy and relaxing to drive IMO. SHMBO has a Fiesta, yet prefers my Superb to drive, she is just more conscious of it's size.

EDIT: oops didn't see we were on page 2 :D

They are a dodle to drive, they are no wider than an Octavia, just longer. For parking if you get the Elegance spec it has reversing sensors as standard & also the nearside door mirror can be set to dip when you put it into reverse to show you the kerb, the mirrors also electrically fold in to make the car even thinner. Its certainly easier to park than our Octavia Mk1 Estate. One thing to watch is kids with the rear doors, where they are huge the little oiks have to be restrained from opening them fully in many cases to mis adjacent cars/walls/fences etc.

The Superb is a truly underated car
