Silverstone Experience - which one to go for?

Lucky old me got given a Silverstone Racing Experience for christmas :thumbup: I now have to choose between the single seater (1.6, 140bhp, 0-60 5sec, 0.8 mile Stowe circuit), Lotus Exige (180bhp, 0-60 4.9sec, 2.5 mile Southern Circuit (part of the GP track)) and rallying in a Fiesta ST (170bhp, FWD, rally cross course).

Has anyone else done one of these, and what do you suggest? I'm leaning towards the Exige at the moment - as exciting as the single seater would no doubt be I doubt I'd learn much and I'd probably just have problems with the pedals and my big feet!

How much driving time do you get in each of them?

Single seater - 20 mins with pace car, then 20 mins on your own.

Lotus - 5 laps, then 4 laps, then a hot passenger lap.

Rally - 13 min session, then 12 minute session, then passenger hot lap.

SWMBO highly recommends the single seaters to me and says that you feel like a proper racing driver and your senses are far more alive and "connected" than in a road car.

The Exige one looks good too and I'm sure the hot lap would make it worthwhile alone :D

I did an equivalent thing at Brands which involved "tuition" for 12 laps in a Megane 230 R26 to show you lines etc and then the single seater for 12 laps. I enjoyed the single seater lots as it is so different to anything else BUT:

(a) it is very tight with space for feet - although they provide slipper type shoes to help this; and

(B) the Brands single seaters were rev limited in top which meant bouncing off the limiter before I had even exited Clark Curve - really frustrating when you have eejits in front who drive like grannies around the rest of the circuit, drive on lines that won't let you through (in an approved manner) and then you still can't pass them down the straight as they also hit the limiter :mad:

i have also done the same one as one at brands. I thought it was such a fantastic experiance that im doing it again as soon as i can afford it! ive got size 11 feet and i found no problems with pedals, and the limiter was anoying but i found space round the course to over take, and the marshalls were pretty good at getting people out the way if it was obvious you were faster. thought i got black flagged at one point though :)

the single seater means theres noone else in the car which i prefered. although at silverstone the single seaters are on a short circuit it just means you'd get more chance to perfect the course. i may try for silverstone next time, but i'll defo be doing the single seater day :thumbup:

I got the 4x4 off road thing at silverstone for christmas..... I have done the m3 one at rockingham and that was cool, but by the time you got to know the car, it was time over :(

I did silverstone rally one years ago in a pug 106.

Tbh the track ones would be better as it it's more like what your used to i.e. roads as opposed to rallying unless you have rally history

Single seater or the Fester. The Lotus is always going to feel slow, because Silverstone circuit is silly wide, and the return loop on the South Circuit is rubbish too.
