Need some info, wirering, alarm install

Featured Replies

Hi

I just got my new alarm system today.

And have figured out what wires are for what.

But where do i find them in the car.

Need info about these:

Door switch, wich work on both switches, a wire behind the speedo maybe?

where to connect 1 or 2 wires to the blink lights, at the relay, or maybe at the contact.

Wich wires are ACC, Ignition, and Start, behind the Ignitionbarrel.

Where to find a 12volt, when the stoplight are on?

And where to connect to the handbrake, maybe behind speedo also?

Hope you can write both where either the relay, wire and color are.

Best Regards

Morten

Hi

Firstly I'd pick up a cheap 12 volt test light or multi=meter to help.

For door switch your best bet is connect to roof light.the wire you need is the one which goes live when all doors are closed and off when open, use your test light for this.

Connect your indicator wires at the stalk again using your test light.test wires with indicators on and off as there will be three wires at stalk left , right and common, do not connect to the common.

Use your test light at ignition barrell to find your live, crank and ignition. Be careful not to short these as you could do more than just blow a fuse.

Why do you need to connect to the hand-brake and stop light as a matter of curiousity?

Hope this is of help

Colin.

I have that, but dont know where to look.

I work at Vw/Audi, and now Skoda.

But none at my work have worked on older Skodas, like the felly.

I will try that tomorrow.

Add a remote start function, to follow my Webasto Heater.

I think its the stop light the alarm needs.

Will take a picture of the manual.

So can you decide, if it is the stop light.

Here are some pictures of the manual:

Hi zeecue. I have just installed an alarm on my Favorit due to neighbours mucking about with my car. It sounds like you have a more advanced system than I have as an anti-hijack system would use the brake/stop light. The best location for that is probably in the pin connectors which (in the Favorit) run down the passenger side (the left hand side in the UK - remove the trim panels in front of the doors and if it's similar to the favorit you'll find the wires there). Not sure which wire it is though sorry. But if you use a multimeter you can probably stick it down the side of the pin and put the earth to a good earth and press the brake pedal.

I wired the indicator flasher wires up behind the hazard light switch using the Haynes manual wiring diagrams as a guide to which wires power the left and right indicators. You may find the Haynes wiring diagrams a useful guide. If it gives a letter and number for a wire, these are normally correspondingly labelled on the wires in the fusebox to aid identification.

Installing the Siren, I used a hole already in the engine bay on the suspension strut housing bit along with a nut, bolt and washers and used double sided tape to hold the rest of it. To get the wires through, I punctured a hole in the rubber in one of the 2 unused bits on the rubber bung that is used by the headlight adjusters and pushed the wires through with a nail and duct tape. I don't know if this is present on the Felicia fun though.

Unfortunately on my Clifford Arrow 5 the shock sensor seems weak, even on full sensitivity setting.

Did you figure out how to get the alarm to work on all door switches? I have 2 blue wires passenger side and a blue and green driver's side. Seems to stand to reason that the green driver's side green wire is the earth switched by both doors? Seems like it would be impossible to get a wire up to the courtesy light to me. (Well not impossible, just more difficult than hooking the wire up to the earth switched wire on each door individually in series).

You need to use the interior light as the source for door switches, i know that.

I have made the connections for the indicator lights, right at the connections at the flasher arm.

But where can i wire up the horn?

Best Regards

Morten

Double post. Ooops.

Just been thinking, whatever way it works, if all the wires go to the interior light the correct wire will be earthed with all of them.

[interior light switched to door open]
                                I
                                I
                              / \
                           / \
          ------------- -------------
        / \
/ \--------------> Door switch alarm conn
    / \
Door 1 Switch Door 2 switch
    I I
    I I
Earth Earth

So what I'm getting at is if each door shares the same connector in the interior light sending a wire to it, when the wire for door 1 is earthed, thusly the wire for door 2 must too be earthed for the alarm connector, given that it is shared as a common wire in the interior light. I admit I'm no electrician or expert and do not know if the interior light is wired like this. I haven't got around to wiring in my door switched wire yet.

As for the horn connector the easiest option is probably to identify the wire that runs directly to the horn near the radiator. On the Felicia it's only the steering wheel centre push?

The wire from the interior lamp, that splits and earths out at each door pin switch runs down the screen pillar (cant remember which side) best thing to do is get the wiring diagram from the haynes manual

Zeecue - if the felicia has the same electrics as the Favorit (2 blue wires passenger door, and a green and blue wire drivers door) connect the alarm door triggered wire to the green wire at drivers side.

I just did this with the Favorit being a bit of a gambler thinking well there's a 50/50 chance I have got the right wire and even if it only works on driver's door that's something. But I wired it to the green wire and disabled the sensors (to be sure I wasn't setting it off with them) and opened the driver's door. Alarm goes off. Open passenger door. Alarm goes off. Success! :) This will be easier than routing wire to the light itself. I am not sure if this only works when the interior light is turned off and set to only come on when doors open, but I always have it on that anyway.

Note that the Favorit does not have door switches on the rear passenger doors. I am not sure if this is the same as the Felicia or not.

I have connected it directly at the interior light.

But now i have a problem, the alarm can only blink the right indicator lights, the one on the right.

The alarm has 2 indicator outputs, and both can blink the right indicator lights.

I have mounted them directy at the contact, at the steering wheel.

And where can i mount the wire to the handbrake?

And where can i mount to the horn?(the alarm has a positive output)

Best Regards

Morten

Wouldn't it be better to somehow wire it into the hazard warning lights and not to each individual indicator

If you can get hold of a Felicia Haynes manual it has diagrams such as the one posted here http://www.briskoda.net/forums/maintenance-performance/felicia-1-3lx-instruments/1129/

I managed to identify the indicator wires using the Favorit haynes at the hazard switch and it luckily worked first time. On the Favorit the correct wires for indicators are green for the right one and yellow for the left at the car end of the loom. The colours on the switch wire itself are different.

I have acces to the orignal Skoda Handbooks(And VW and Audi allso).

But there is nothing on how and where the indicator lights work.

Where can i plug in a wire for the handbrake?

And what about ACC(I think thats ignition right?) Where can i plug that wire in?

Do you fellas think i should add the remote start function? the car has immobiliser, so i cant have much fun with it?

Best Regards

Morten

Yeah I think you would have to bypass the immobiliser. It's not such a bad thing, as I imagine the alarm itself has an immobiliser, but it may be difficult to do and have insurance implications. In the UK it's actually illegal to leave a car unattended with the engine running - but many places still sell these remote start things, and they even fitted them on Pimp My Ride UK.

If you have access to the original diagrams you should be able to figure out where the wires go to if you spend a little time interpreting the diagrams.

I can tell you where the handbrake wire is from this diagram below posted in another thread (assuming it is the correct diagram for your car). Item number 52 is the handbrake switch. A wire, that is yellow/brown leads from the switch to the instrument panel where it eventually connects via a connector and terminates at the instrument panel via a black wire. It's unclear in the scan, but I think it's labelled 10d/8. All the handbrake wire does is control the light on the instrument panel.

In diagrams for the ignition switch, there should be connectors numbered.. 30, p, 15, 50, 16. You need to tap into the wire numbered 15. I have also just noticed the ignition switch is visible on this diagram labelled number 5. The black wire from ign connector 15 leads to the fusebox, unfortunately the scan isn't clear of which connector it leads to. Check with a multimeter that the wire you intend to tap into is +12v only when the key is turned to the on position, and that it doesn't turn off when the key is turned to the start position.
