Any ideas where I can get a copy of iDVD v6 for PPC?

Featured Replies

I've just bought a new (2ndhand) G5 iMac. It came with Panther & the iLife suite but as I've just bought a new iPod I needed to upgrade (new iPods don't work with Panther!). I've installed Leopard & most things seem fine except iDVD which won't launch! My iDVD is v4. Apparently the fix is to use v6 or v7. I don't really want to pay £55 for the latest version of iLife when I've already got the app's I need, iMovie v7 won't work on this mac anyway & I've just paid £85 for a copy of Leopard!

I tried downloading an upgrade (v6.04) from the Apple site but it won't install on my system 'cause I don't have v6.0!

Bit annoyed about this as all the other iApps survived the upgrade & the reason I bought a new Mac was to be able to burn DVD's!

So, anyone know where I can get hold of iDVD v6?

Thanks, but unfortunately this is an update & won't install on my system because I don't have the original application.

I have iDVD version 4, which was working fine before I updated to Leopard. Apple don't seem to be about to do anything to fix this.

I'm a bit miffed, having shelled out the £85 for Leopard, that it's broken my copy of iDVD, especially as there is no mention of needing to upgrade iDVD anywhere in order to use Leopard.

What I'm after is a copy of the original iDVD app at version 6 or version 7 (the only versions to work with Leopard). This, I accept, is possibly a little naughty & I always pay for my software but in this case I kind of feel I've already paid for it as it came with my iMac, the upgrade to Leopard broke it & I'm just trying to get it working again.

If I can't get it, then I guess I'll have to pay the £55 for iLife '08 just to get iDVD v7!

Thanks for your help anyway.

Cheers

Darren
