Door locking pin surround - help !!

Featured Replies

Hi

Just had all four doors of my 53 plate Fabia hatch resealed by the stealer. Got home and found that they have kindly split the little surround of the drivers door pin (the one that pops up on top of door card).

It has a red light in it that flashes when locked.

Question is can this piece be purchased seperately ?

If so part number anyone ?

and does the little red light come as part of it, or is that mounted in some other way in the door and the surround goes around it ?

How do I get the old one out, is it a case of gently levering it up ?

Really can't be bothered to go back to dealer again (don't trust them not to trash something else) so would like to DIY if poss.

one last thing, what type of socket do I need for 1.2 petrol sump plug ? and does it have a replacable washer ?

Cheers all

i think it is part of the door trim, i would go back to the dealer and kick up a fuss

The red flashing light is part of the plastic surround, you should be able to gently lever it. Part no. and price wouldn,t have a clue sorry

Cheers guys

Just had a look at vagcat (for first time)and found part number:

6Y2868392 47H - guide for **** central locking right/RHD

No price shown, so I'll check with stealer Monday.

I assume there is an electrical connection of some sort to power the LED. Anyone changed one of these ? I really don't want to have to remove door card.

The LED is just a push fit with a locking tab into the guide.

I'd take this up with the dealer first, Before you go ordering parts.

They broke it, They can fix it.

Not an easy fit this one, the drivers door card has to be removed and the guide fitted then the door card put back on.

Chrispy had similer problems with his. :D
