Hi guys,

i have seen a lot of things on the net about mapping cars with vag com. anyone know anything as i am waiting on a cable and software coming in the post.

You cannot map a car with VagCom.

What have you seen on the net about it then Beef?

Ross Tech have said that they wont go into it mapping with VAG-COM or atleast thats what it said on their site last time i looked

...the real problem is even if we would support flashing, where would you legally get the files to flash and what happens if the flashing process fails? ;)

There are many good tuning companies willing to sell files.Like you say what happens when it goes wrong :thumbdwn:

There are slightly different ways which can be used for flashing, those the dealers use and those tuners use. If we would (speaking totally hypothetical here) implement flashing we would do it the dealer way which means 3rd party files will most likely not be "compatible" and the function itself would be restricted to a certain user/customer group (namely dealer techs and similar).
