Overclocking mobo

Featured Replies

I have recently upgraded my pc to run on a Q6600 with a 8800gt. I have been trying to overclock and the maximum I can get without changing the voltages is 9x300mhz=2.7ghz. I know the cpu will overclock to 3.2ghz quite easily but I have been unable to find the settings that will alow me to boot successfully. My specs are below and any help would be appreciated

Sorted the overclocking issue. All i did really was fiddle for a few hrs and came up with a stable oc. Running voltage at 0.15 over standard and memory at 4-4-4-12 & 533mhz. Got he system at 9x350 or 3.12ghz and memory at a slow but stable speed 0f 700mhz

Everyones loving these Q6600s aint they...

this makes Loz's computer look positively slow with it running "just" at 2.4gig

Q6600 are cool. Firends is really nice however I think he has a fsb loophole on his board as we cant take it past 315x9 as the mobo refuses to post.

His 2 8800GTS 512 kick *** on crysis.

I have an Asus P5ND2-SLI motherboard and use the nTune software from the Nvidia website to overclock everything. It sorts out the ram timings, fsb speed, graphics card etc. Unfortunately I'm still stuck with two 6600le's and they can't be overclocked.

Oddly my DS3 is a little fussy sometimes.

I was able to push a 1.86 C2D 6300 to 2.8GHz but everytime the machine was restarted it would default back to 1.86.

Got a Q6600 now and left at default settings. Still nippy though.

I beg to differ! hehe

Have you tried updating the bios

1st thing I did was update the bios. The version that came pre loaded with the board didn't detect the quad core properly, so I flashed it before I started

I'm running my [email protected] 1.3v (8x400) on my DS3 mobo. Runs stable at 3.4Ghz 1.35v (9x378) but isn't prime stable under Vista64 and temps are getting a little high.
