Sleeping HP

Featured Replies

Treated myself to a new HP Pavilion desk top. Got more or less everything running as it should but there is one problem. When I bring it out of the Sleep mode it doesn't appear to recognise my broadband modem (Thomson Speedtouch ADSL).

The only way I can get over the problem at the moment is to unplug the usb for a few seconds before replugging. The modem then does its flashing light sequence and all is well.

I'm sure this isn't supposed to happen but how do I resolve it?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Yeah it's and issue with the power management and USB. I had this with my USB wireless adaptor on my desktop.

To fix do the following;

In the Device Manager > Universal Serial Bus Controllers > USB Root Hub > Power Management, Uncheck the box per the illustration below. Uncheck all boxes on all root hubs.
