Mk1 Octy vRS Cold start problem

Featured Replies

Hey everyone.

Need to rack some of your knowledgable brains on a reason why my car won't start in the mornings.

Its over fueling, well thats what i've been told but it did used to smell of petrol when trying to start it.

I have already changed the usual suspects:-

The coolant temperature sensor

All 4 coil packs

Spark Plugs

The Fuel control relay

The cold start regulating valve

It has been to one garage who know's VAG's very well and they couldn't work it out.

It is now at another place as thought it might be the LPG conversion but it isn't that.

So can the Briskoda collective give me any other ideas or if anyone is near Essex who thinks they will be able to fix it please let me know.

Many thanks in advance.

What about the battery?

On cold mornings its easy to find a slightly weak battery

I wish it was the battery, that would be easy.

The battery will turn the car over for along while, infact until it eventually starts.

Plugs ??
