It's really not that easy... (Headlight bulb change)

Doesn't bother me anymore. :P

But then most people don't take as drastic a action as I did to make bulb changes easier. :o

So what's the fastest and easiest to do? Change a bulb with the battery in place or take the battery out and stick it in the boot? :D

Reminds me of bulb changes on the mkIV Golf. I had heard it was really difficult unless you took the bumper off.

I didn't fancy taking the bumper off so tried to fit the bulbs in situ and it took a good two hours!

The next time a bulb went I removed the bumper, took the headlights out, replaced the bulb and had it all back together again in three quarters of an hour!

or take the battery out and stick it in the boot? :D

In the long run this is the best. :D Also, think of the nice weightshift into the boot, and off over the front wheels. ;)

:rubchin: is it worth the hassle?

Changed the headlight bulbs on my octy today, you have to remove the headlights to do it. Still only took 5 mins though, due to the ease of removing the lights on the mk2 octy.

I changed a friends bulbs on his mk4 golf, and it was a right PITA. Still managed to change them without taking the lights off, but it was quiet tight even with my small hands.

can anyone tell me how to get the sidelight bulbs out

They pull out, No twisting just straight back.

They're tight though. Just persevere and you'll get it.

Not done it myself but people that have recommend a pair of long nosed pliers to help remove them.
