Plenum drains changed position on later fabias?

Featured Replies

Hi everyone.

On my old X reg 1.4 mpi fabia, I had to clear the little drain outlet on the bulkhead in the engine bay regularly so the passenger foot well didn't get full of water.

I've changed my car now to an 06 pd100 and can't find a drain hole.

Anyone know if the design changed or something or if the chamber drains ro somewhere else?

Could try throwing a bucket of water over it I suppose to see where it goes but rather not risk it going straight into the car.

Hi, I have a 55 plate pd100 and I too searched in vain for these outlets. Not had any problems but thought I ought to check them after reading various forums on the subject. I've not looked at an earlier car for comparison but it seems likely that they have been changed. If you throw a bucket of water at the screen, the water drains into the wheel arches. Seems quite free flowing so hopefully there should be no problems with the later cars.

Hi Hittboy , could you tell me the location of the drain holes on your old mpi? I have the dreaded passenger footwell leak!

Hi Duncan. Look at this thread.

Pay no attention to the people here removing the grille thing from the top. You don't need to.

There is a photo near the bottom of page 1. Not great but might give you an idea where to feel about.

I guess for passenger side leak, clear passenger side. This is the easiest one to locate.

Sorry I can't do you a better photo as my old fabia has gone now and my 2006 car is different.

Have fun groping about.

You'll know when you've found it because there will be a gushing noise and you'll end up with wet fingers!!!

Clearly I did that link wrong. I'll try again

Thanks very much for that!! Mine was blocked with a very fine silt/dirt , but i have no idea where it came from , also fitted a new pollen filter so we will see if that has cured the leak , thanks again!!
