My mate needs to hand back a company lappy tomorrow but he needs to get his outlook diary off there sharpish, am I right in assuming if I save the .pst folders all the info will be in there with all the past emails and contacts.

Yes, just shut Outlook down before trying to copy/move the PST file(s) elsewhere.

I have done that before and though why wont these damn things save then the penny drops.....doh close outlook

If you use file...import and export...export to a file....choose PST, you can then move the file created without shutting outlook or having it complain.

It was xp to vista so the vista machine didn't like the export file (permission denied) So I did the old file swap trick
