Octy 4x4 hatch - What to do first?

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I havent even picked my 4x4 hatch up yet and already planning the mods:D.

I've manged over the last 12 month save up for some bits and have roughly 1000 to spend on it. Already purchase a set of Vrs wheels for 250 (havent got them yet), but whats the best route from here? Was thinking Exhaust + custom remap + new brake pads, not sure if i've got enough for all that but worth a shot.

Is that the best route to go?

seems you already have a plan there ;) sounds good to me

You might just have enough, i'd be tempted to at a new diverter valve and pipercross panel filter in there too ;)

Definately the brakes first mine were awful i have 312mm disks now and there much better. You may also want to think about the suspension as it rolls alot and is very high also uprated antiroll bars front and rear and then think about the exhaust and a remap.Exhausts are a bit of a problem because no one makes a 4x4 exhaust system that you can buy off the shelf i think blueflame will make one if you take it too them.Suspension kits are also quite limited.

Get the brakes and suspension sorted first, then remap.

brakes.

suspension.

remap.

leave the exhaust as it makes hardly any difference, especially for nearly £600(BlueFlame downpipe/cat/cat back system).

Brakes, remap then suspension depending where you drive as it is high and rolls but if down a dirt track that can be useful. Wheels only for looks. I'd stop there personally unless something breaks - the clutch in my case, which is expensive - so save money for practical rather than cosmetic if potless like me!

Good advice mate:thumbup:, was thinking of building a 4x4 VRS..but mongy is going to be a prob after this.

Cheer sthe rest of you:thumbup:, Drop in filter + remap + brakes i think, still could do with extra height as mud tracks do feature sometimes.
