Ipod and magnet?

Featured Replies

Wonder if someone can help me.

Can you use a magnetic device to hold your ipod or will it simply screw it up.

I used to have a magnetic mobile phone holder which was great but I'm not sure if an Ipod will be damaged being close to a magnetic source.

Many thanks

Mark

If it's a disk based iPod this sounds like a very bad idea to me!

Not so sure about the flash based ones, but I wouldn't like to try it to find out.

DO NOT USE A MAGNETIC HOLDER FOR AN iPod!!!

is that clear enough ;):D

Thank you.

Think that has just about answered it :D

You know hard disks are not *that* affected by magnets.

I mean look inside an old hard disk and you will find a pair of very powerful magnets in the head control.

The problem comes with if the disc is sat there doing nothing for a while & that is when magnets can mess them up as it gets time to create a nice line down the data.
