Say I want to by a box that will

-play DVDs

-play Divx

-has a hard drive

-can record sky programs

-allows the upload (wired or wireless) of Divx material

-plays mp3 and other various formats

-looks the parts.

I checked the Linksys website as they have now bought KiSS, but I can't see whether it allows you to upload your material. And if you want to stream video, you need Windows Media Centre, which means additional licensing and hardware.

Thanks!

I built my own decent spec media centre box including vista prem oem licence for less than £300.

What's the kiss box retail at ?

I would suggest as above... a simple media pc... just a decent small and quiet pc with media centre on... and also have a TV card installed i think you can get satelite ones..

PS3?

Im sure I read someplace that there is a Freeview device coming out for it and it can do most if not all of whats on your list already :D

If you have a 360 it can stream video/audio across your network from a windows PC.

I just have a cheapy laptop and just connect to my media collection on my desktop.
