so you all helped me decide to dump the sevic/ripspeed dreams i had. ive ended up with an alpine CDE-9881RBH

and must say im very very pleased.

thanks alot for that

so now ive got another issue, what would you reccomend?

ive got two 10" kenwood subs using one 4 channel sony amp, but tommorrow im getting a pyle 15" sub, wich i would use with my alpine V12 amp, which would you recommend???

ithe way i see it ive get 4 opitions

keep the kenwoods

use the pyle

mod the two boxs into one sealed box and use all 3

do teh same but make each box seporate from one another

what are you guys saying????

cheers x

Pyle? Can't say the name rings a bell and the stuff on their website looks a bit dubious.

If it's any good and free use the single 15" sub

If not stay with the 2* kenwood, this would be plenty good enough anyway.

Do not mod all three into a single box IMHO as the thing won't be balanced and you will get all sort of odd waves and potential for distortion and cancellation patterns.

Pyle??

Are they still going??

I thought they went out of business in the early 90's...

Stick with the Kenwoods.

i had a pyle 12" in my car, lent it to my cousin and she managed to put a hole in the cone! but the old one was brilliant, far better than the two kenwoods for sheer boom but i kinda like the punchyness of the 10's hmmmm

15s are suppost to be the best size arnt they???

oh and another one ... what size front door speakers do the skoda fabias take? do new ones need modding to fit?

I prefer 12's as they give the best response for rock music.

There was a thread about door speakers, can't remember it though. Have a look in search and you might find it.

cheers bud, yea had a 12 inch pyle as i said, used to make the whole car rumble!

basically what im after is a good all round set up without having to bust the bank ... if thats possible???

Keep the standard door speakers, get a 12" sub, and play with the settings on the head unit.

Cheap way to get a good sounding system as the standard speakers really aren't that bad.

I would keep the 2*10" subs.

Then the front speakers have to be shallow, but you can get some good components that will fit.

I'd do that over wasting money on a small change in bass.

if you replace the door speakers and want them to sound good, look into moving the tweeters to a better mount and fit some sound deadening material on the door panels or you'll be wasting your money.

i'm currently looking to get a better sound from my fabia and this is what i've been advised to do.

IMHO the mounts will be fine as long as you put enough deadening material on them.

If you were to replace the lower mounts MDF rings instead of plastic would make a good difference :)
