I posted a while back moaning that my car started pulling to the left after having new front tyres put on - well just before going on holiday I checked the pressure and found that the fitter had massively overinflated the front tyres. A quick release of pressure back to the recommended level, and all if fine!

Might be worth checking if you have this problem after having new tyres.

Agree with that, I think every tyre I've ever had fitted had been over inflated. I wonder if it's done deliberatly to ensure the tyre seats properly on the rim?

yes this can be the case, when fitting a low profile tyre such as a 205/45r16 they can sometimes be a bugger to seat on the rim.

with some tyres 80psi is needed to achieve this!

i work for goodyear and what we usually do is over inflate the tyres until they pop-on and sit properly then let the excess air out until the proper pressure is reached! i can bet that some places cant be bothered and dont reset the pressures which is total false economy really and can cause uneven tyre wear and problems such as JMC is having :thumbdwn:

Tyre fitters are notorious for not inflating to the correct pressure. I always check it at the first opportunity.
