Redex ??

Featured Replies

I have looked through posts on Redex and I am still unsure it's good/ok to use in a TDI engine 100bhp model.

So come on and give me your feedback.

Yes.

Yes but it wont do a lot.

Millers Sport 4 works better.

As above, Redex is 'too' harsh in my opinion. I used it once on my old HDi and 2 days later i have a fuel leak in the engine bay and a month or so later my fuel tank started leaking onto my back tire, almost ended in death.... may just be all coincedence though

Use millers dude

The Millers sport product does this clean up the fuel system or is it just a boster?

Redex worked fine with my sister's 2,0 DTL Astra. You can feel the difference, especially if you run a whole tank of redex mixed diesel on a long highway run.

Anyway, I was wondering whether is it cool to use on a PD engine. My book says that PD engines are not suitable for any additives of that kind.

Millers cleans and boosts, it is THE best, im sure at least 50% of members on here use it on there diesels. I run my VRS constantly on the stuff

I was wondering this too as got a few bottles free at the Autosport show over the weekend.

No problem running Redex in the Fabia and I ran mine on it without issue. Millers fuel additive is a better product though and because each dose is a lot smaller, is better bang for the buck too :D

Chris

go for millers

What effect has it had on anyones petrol Fabia? 1.4Mpi?

I have tried Redex in pretty much everything I have owned in the vague hope it will bring a noticable benefit and it has fallen well short everytime. it's not too bad for doing a semi de-coke when you can't be ar5ed to remove the head but I wouldn't give it shelf space now.

If you want a good derv system cleaner, use Forte straight into the filter. For Petrol, Wynns injector cleaner (The one for use in the pump) straight into the filter.

As an additive, Millers is the only stuff I have found works to the point it's worth buying it (In other words it costs less to use it than not and the benefits outweigh the costs)
