Hi People need a little knowledge

My Fabia vrs is just out of warranty which is a good thing mods permitting now but its just due for service now aswell i reset thing my self coz it was annoying me but havnt really got the money to go to skoda to service it

anyone know what they usually change on a normal service and will do it my self

i.e spark plugs etc

Cheers Sean.

well there aint no spark plugs in your vRS for a start! ;)

one think I'll say, is just make sure you get the right PD oil for it......

I'm sure someone with more technical knowledge will come along soon.....

if its a major service, could be fuel filter ect, and not just oil....

how long has your brake fluid been in there? they change that every two years.....

o ye what am i on about spark plugs am tired lol and in work ha ha

what mileage have you done???????????

36k

When my Fabia used to go in for a service they'd provide a tick-sheet which showed what needed doing for all the services and they'd tick the bit that were done for the specific service it was in for. Have you got any of these from previous services? Shame I didn't keep mine as I could have scanned them for you :(

Chris

at 36k depending on age, i would be changing.

Airfilter

Oil + filter, make sure its vag 505.01 pd spec

Fuel filter

Pollen/cabin filter

Brake fluid change.

A full brake inspection and suspension inspection.

Tyre inspection.

Timing belt inspection including inspection of aux belt.

Vag com fault code scan.

Reset service indicator with vag com.

Thats only what i would be doing at this mileage, it doesnt mean thats what a dealer would be doing. Many people who do their own servicing do all the filter and oil change but forget the important stuff like timing belt inspection.
