Exhaust System warning light on the dash

Featured Replies

My exhaist system warning light came on the dash the other day but switched off on it's own after a couple of short drives. Now it's back on again.. everything sounds fine. I called the local Skoda dealer and they said to check the manual and perform a routine set out under 'particle filter' but I can't find anything like this in there. Anyone got any ideas before I take it in?

If this is a a dpf then IIRC a good drive on motorway or DC for 30 mins - 1 hour should clear it.

Diesel Particulate filter doesn't appreciate town driving, but will regenerate

I think it's something along the lines of drive above 50KMH for a given period.

Pretty sure the handbook is over 50 or 60kph for 15 mins. But a good run out as mentioned above will sort it.

Although when mine came on it wouldn't go away. Took to dealers and they found a fault in the glow plug system and upgraded the software. When it came on again the next day the ended up replacing the exhaust pressure sensor. It's never come again since, although now I just make sure after slow town driving I stretch it legs a bit.
