vrs gearbox oil capacity

Featured Replies

Guys quick Q: is the oil capacity for the gearbox 2.0l or 2.3l?

cheers,

Dave

On the 110 1.9 TDI it is 2L of Fully sythetic.

Avoid the Silkolene stuff as people have had problems with it and the box not getting on.

I would buy 3L and open the filler plug before you try and drain it.

Once drained put the plug back in and put in oil slowly. Somebody can correct me on this, but I think that the filler hole is at the right level such that if you over fill it the oil will just come out of the filler hole.

I'd suggest getting some suitable pipe and a small funnel to assist you in filling the box.

If you don't feel up to it then an indy garage will change it for you and some even use a machine which filters the old oil then heats it and passes it through the box to remove as much sludge as possible.

Once done they then put in the clean oil.
