Faulty side light switch

Featured Replies

Hi,

 I've got a faulty switch for the side lights on my Felicia. The switch started playing up the other day but it is getting worse. Pushing the button in and out turns the lights off and on but they won't stay on. Thanks to the guys who re-directed me from the new members forum to ask this question here. Had a trawl through previous posts but couldn't see anything on the exact problem I've got.

I have removed the plastic button/switch so that I am pressing in the white pastic casing that houses the dash bulb for the side lights. I think it may be this white plastic casing that is causing the problem because if I keep the casing pushed in (or push it in just a tiny amount) then the lights stay on. However, this is obviously only a solution for the short term because driving one handed while the other is keeping the switch in obviously isn't ideal! Has anybody experienced this problem before? Is it likely to be a loose connection here? How easy is it to disconnect and replace the white plastic housing?

Many thanks.

:) You'll most likely end up buying a new switch, they aren't too expensive.

i've had this problem, i'm not quite sure how it happens but its the switch internals. disconnect it, and plug the connections onto a new one and it should solve it alright. take you 15 minutes really, easy peasy.
