1.3 rotor arm replacement

Featured Replies

i've just replaced my distributor cap and leads to cure a misfire problem but can't seem to change the rotor arm, my haynes says its bonded to the distributor shaft but doesn't explain how to remove it. any ideas?

If Haynes was correct, you'd need to change the dissie. However, they're wrong, and it's just very stiff to get off!

If you get a fairly heafty flat-head screwdriver and prise it off it will come off with relative ease!

Although i cracked one side of mine when i removed it but it still sits on very tight and had no problems!

It does come off I had to change mine as the end had exploded!!!!!! The look on the kid from Scrotosave was a picture when I told him the arm was off a 1.3 Skoda

I'd imagine it should be the same as on the Favorit.

I had to yank mine off with some force. It seems they may get stuck with corrosion or something over time. Get a finger under either side and pull straigt upwards off the shaft with a bit of force.

I have just looked at the Skoda parts catalogue diagrams, and they all show the rotor arm as a separate part. So I wonder where Haynes got this "bonded to distributor shaft" from.

I presume Scrotosave is Wilco Motosave?
