Wheel Toolkit and Jack

Featured Replies

Hi to all,

I have had a look through search option but not found what I am looking for. So, does anyone know if any Skoda or VW Wheel Toolkit and Jack will fit my Felicia 1.3 LXi Plus (1996). I did have one but I think it`s has been dumped with all the Xmas trash...

ER-HUM...!!! :o :(

Thanks Circlip

All of the VAG cars, that use the 10mm wheel bolts will fit.

And the jack will fit from almost any VAG car, i personally use one from a Rover 416, a lot sturdier than the Skoda one, and can lift under almost anything.

I have 2 genuine Felicia jacks that are in my garage gathering dust. One of them even has a canvas type cover on it :P

If you cone to a meet or something you are more than welcome to one of em. :) Unfortunately I think it would be a bit dear to post out.

Might find one at a scrappie? Or you could just get a cheapie bottle jack and a block of wood?

Yeah, a little bottle jack and block of wood is the way to go. The block goes between the jack and the underside of the sill, to spread the load - a little bit of rust and the small top of the jack will go through the sill! Had it happen (not on a Skoda). And the wheel spanner in most cars is rubbish anyway. Get one of those telescopic handles with interchangeable sockets so you can apply some real torque - if the wheels were last fitted by a grunt with a windy spanner in a tyre shop the nuts will be overtightened, guaranteed, and probably rusted in place too, and you'll bust your back trying to undo them with a short spanner. The tools won't take up much space and you can keep them for your next car!

Ah! Now that is a good idea anewman and Richard. Auto-spares shops in town will probably have what I want.

Thanks also to Tom vRS, i`m a fair distance from you and meets are not on my thing. Thanks for the offer though.

Cheers Circlip.

I would store two blocks of wood (or one block and one piece of 1" plank) in the boot - if you're on a gravel road when you need your bottle jack you might need to spread the load downwards too.
