EGR Valve

Featured Replies

Hello guys,

My name is Iskren from Bulgaria.I've been to Doksy and met very nice English people(like Johni5ive)!I drive a Fabia vRS!

My friend with stock vRS (and not too good English)have a problem?

The EGR valve is licking oil?Someone has the same problem?

I think it's the turbo, because the cooler is full of oil?

I am waiting for reply.

Thank you very much.

Best regards,

Iskren

The oil in the EGR system may just be from the dirty air (exhaust fumes) which flow through it.

Before spending out big money on a turbo I would clean out the EGR, intercooler and the associated pipework and run it for a while.

HTH

I had this problem, took it to the dealer, and they just said "faulty EGR valve" and replaced it under warrenty... all was fine after that  (a few others have had this problem too, and replacing the EGR valve fixes it)

just turn the bleedin thing down using vag com.

they are a PITA

just turn the bleedin thing down using vag com.

they are a PITA

as soon as I had the new one fitted, thats exactly what I did to prevent it happening again!

mine started leaking after 12K and they replaced the valve and turbo although there was no other signs of a turbo problem.

no problems since and I've just hit 24K

Thanks for the fast posts guys.

My friend is from Sofia (the capital).

The dealers said to him not to worry-when something broke down-then they will replace it!

Very strange situation!

(sorry for my poor eEnglish)
