I think they will but it doesn't hurt to ask.

Cheers.

Dunno about them fitting but I bet they would look amazing on your black combi!

Yes, they should do :)

The next door neighbour's daughter was driving a black A4 'sline' with those wheels and it got me thinking :rubchin:

I would imagine the wheels are the same fit as a set of B14's and are more widely available and therefore cheaper than the Skoda 18's.

I think they would look spot on

They're ok but I'm not a huge fan. There are better looking wheels out there.

They need to have a PCD of 112 and and ET of anywhere between 51 and 40 depending on the wheel width which ideally should be 7.5J or possibly 8J.

PCD is 112 and they are 7.5J but the offset is 54.

I am after a simple set of 5 spoke 18's and the B14's are simply out of my budget for the time being. The 18" Zeniths are too complicated (I hate cleaning them!) and they will confuse the issue. I also like the Solids on the Superb but IIRC they are 17's and i'm not 100% they will suit the Octy

Failing that a set of 17" Pegasus alloys will do as I had them on the old car and they were great.

Just looking at the moment but will be looking to buy something pretty soon.

They should be fine

TBH I think the Sputniks on the L&K look like they are tucked too far into the wheel arches, they could do with sticking out another inch or so.

Quick bit of technical spec for comparison;

B14s are 18" x 8J, ET 45 - these will therefore stick out 9mm more than the S-lines to give a good wide track stance.

Pegasus are 17" x 7J, ET 54 - these sit relatively inboard (noticeably so compared to the B14s) so spacers, say 15mm hubcentric, are desirable for best style!

I like the clean lines of the S-Lines - simple 5 spoke; as you say, will be a doddle to clean.

I think they look stunning on the Octy 2....

Same problem with the Pegasus; solution? ....

.... get some spacers to widen the track.

Excellent, that's settled it for me, as soon as funds allow I will be getting me a set :D

What wheels you currently got on there and what are you planning to do with them if you do get the Audi ones?

(Vulture mode i know :o)

Saw a set of these on an Audi A4 Estate a few days ago; looked really good in the flesh (metal).

I have the 17" Sputnik wheels at the moment and I kerbed one badly the other day:mad::thumbdwn:

Unfortunately they will have to stay in the shed as it's a company car and has to go back in it's original condition- sorry :(

Besides, they aren't the nicest wheels you can have fitted to an Octavia and they are a pig to look after :P

Have you got your hubcentrics yet m8?

Have you got your hubcentrics yet m8?

Yup; got them fitted on Tuesday night. :D;)

Look really good and will try and get some photos taken at the weekend to post with some earlier (before) pics.

Fitting was spot on, Eibach always produce good kit and 15mm is just about the right amount of extra offset for the Pegasus (and therefore any other 17" x 7J ET54 wheel) they are maybe 3 - 5mm wider than my B14s; 20mm would be too much and you won't get hubcentric spacers that are less.

Wheel balance, always a possible issue with spacers, seems unaffected.

Saw an Audi A4 Estate a few days ago with a set of these; looked really good, nice clean lines, not fussy; accepting that they would have had 235/40 18 tyres whereas the Octy will need 225/40 18 so look slightly sharper with slimmer sidewall.

Good decision. Now get back to work to earn the wonga to pay for them!

What about wheels like this? 18" VW/AUDI RS6 alloy wheels and 22540ZR18 tyres on eBay, also, Wheels with Tyres, Car Wheels, Tyres Trims, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 01-Feb-08 21:25:49 GMT)

It's likely they are not genuine  but at the end of the day they will get buggered on the high kerbs in London like all my alloys do eventually and they look 99% like the real deal. Not sure about the quality though. And the tyres will probably be none to special but they will get hammered anyway.

NO - don't do it. They are toooooo cheap.

Got to be cheap copies of something - will they be properly made.

Even cheap tyres of that size will have to be £75 each so £300 for a set - so £89 for a set of wheels???

I did have a sneaking suspicion they were miles from genuine but not having ever bought any new wheels for a car I am not particularly clued up on such things

Poor quality materials and manufacturing is a worry.

I'll wait for the genuine articles to appear and avoid the cheap tat
