Me thinks you would have to get it programed at dealer if your car has an immobiliser. ive tried the straight swop thing with ECUs before with no joy

that did cross my mind. wonder how one would get round it?

someone with VAG-COM??!

This is the Bosch ECU. If it is the same as the Favorit, the immobiliser is not coded on the ECU. Skoda part numbers are different between the Favorit and Felicia for the ECU, but some other things have different part numbers and are interchangeable.

The Skoda parts catalogue says for the Felicia there's a standard 135 and 136 ECU (probably Bosch), a Siemens 135 and 136 one for cars with an immobiliser, one specifically for cars with ac, another for ac and immobiliser, then different ones for 135mpi, 136mpi (ignoring 1.6 and 1.9d).

My car sounds like it's about to explode before it gets to the rev limiter anyway  and I've never taken it to the rev limiter before.

The ECU in my car is black, so I do not know if this is painted silver?

The only thing this would be useful for, possibly, is breaking something!

I don't like running at redline engine speeds... All the power is gone by then in any gear above 2nd... !

Unless this has been remapped or something, I can't see the benefits... :o

i surpose with an opened up exhaust, and an open air fillter you can keep the power going much higher up.

I suppose if you re-worked/modded all of the engine and you know that the car is now capable of increased RPM then getting rid of the limit might be a benefit.

I don't think the Bosch Monomotronic system can be re-mapped anyway? I think it's quite a basic system compared with most of today's cars.
