Temp guage issues!

Featured Replies

Heya people, hope all is ok with you... (oooh how formal)

Anyway, I have had this reccuring problem for quite a while now. Occationally, the temperature guage on the dash simply stays at cold, it doesn't matter how far I go. Then if I turn the engine off then on again, it shoots up to the correct position... and is fine.

What could be going wrong?

Many thanks,

This happens to me too, any ideas anyone?

one of two things that people recommend is either the coolant sensor or thermostat housing. The coolant sensor is an absolute doddle to replace, theres a guide how to replace it http://briskoda.net/technical-guides/fabia-coolant-temp-sensor-how/66180/ the part from memory was £25 i think ...

I have had the same problem but its come back again with the engine light so car is going to take a visit to the stealers for the thermostat housing to be replaced.

For me it was the coolant sensor, all sorted now and was really easy to sort, £26 from Skoda and fitted myself... made me feel good that I had managed to fix it!!
