Audi Quattro - Fell in love this morning

Featured Replies

Hi all

Parked the car this morning and walked up towards my work when I spotted a stunner of a audi.

A b reg, white audi quattro with a black leather interior and on a set of ava rims.

If it was a lot lighter I would have taken a pic of the car, but it takes me back to my childhood of the 80's and cheered me up on my way to work on a cold morning.

If it is still light and the car is still there I will see if I can get a pic and post on the forum.

What was your favourite car from your childhood??

Apart from that audi it would have been a escort cosworth for me.

sounds a bit blase, but a Mk3 Golf VR6... brought me around to loving cars :)

Nice choice, I was always into cars from a young age and we had nothjing but basic family cars, so to see the escort cosworth come out when my dad had a escort popular, made me stand out and aim for one to own,

Well I did get a ford which was a 1.6 focus but the charm of the cosworth has worn off now.

I think my dream car would something like a audi or something but at the momnet I'm happy with the vRS.

Mk1 Fiesta Supersport...had one too about 3 years ago, and still got some of it!

As for now...RS4 FTW!

I always wanted a Corrado VR6.

I've had mine for about 4 years now!

A good looking friend of my parents had a black coke bottle shaped mkIII Cortina that I thought was really cool. Well the guy driving it was and that helped a lot. The Dino 246 though has to be my all time favourite, especially when driven by Danny Wilde--also very cool;)(really showing my age there)

Lotus Cortina Mk1, for the one I actually saw "back in the day".

For the one "in period", Jensen Interceptor FF, or a Ferrari 250GTO.

I don't really remember The Persuaders though, but I notice that Amanda and I have picked the 2 leads cars.

It had a great sig tune and Tony Curtis was still really fit in those days.

Porsche 911 (with oversized spoiler), Countach or Testarossa for me. Doubt I'll ever own any of them, but the 911 was fantastic to drive. Just need to find a generous Lambo and Ferrari owner now

I was also quite partial to the Lotus Esprit turbo too, but not sure it was in the same league!

audi quattro prices ast the moment £7000 for a driving hack, up to £17000 for a minter, my dads mate loves these cars as well.

Up 2 or 3 grand since it was confirmed that Gene Hunt is driving one in Ashes to Ashes.

very true there, the prices will go up with wannabee gene hunts

Always wanted an RS2000 when I was old enough to drive.(never could afford one:rofl:)

A MKII Cortina 1600E was also a favorite of mine.

One of my mates when we were old enough to drive had an RS2000 mk1. Decidedly odd to open the bonnet and realise that the engine was in there at an angle!

On the street where I grew up there were two cars I found stunning: a BMW 502 V8

and a Buick Riviera

and I agree with Ken - the Mk1 Lotus Cortina was lovely.

Many Many favourite cars from my childhood...

but I've wanted to own a Ur-quattro from the age of 8...

Wanted a 911 for years too.. now I own one :) which is nice... other than those, the standard 80's dream cars really I guess....

Porsche 959

Ferrari F40

Lambo Countach

had a book called 'Dream Cars' too featuring loads of weird creations, Treser, B+B and Sbarro amongst them....

Always fancied the Sbarro Mk1 Golf with 911 Turbo engine rear mounted, the Artz 928 Golf and the Sbarro 'Monster' - Range rover based buggy with Boeing 747 wheels :)

Yeah & how much space there was around it.:D

I loved the mkII ‘droop snoot’ RS2000:thumbup:, like what’is name in the Professionals. And the Mexico was pretty exciting, especially in bright yellow with the bodykit on (X-pack??)

Lotus esprit!!!!!

Live the dream!!!!!!!

I also lived the dream, seven times in fact! I'm a simple man with simple needs. I was hooked the moment I heard the rumble of the V6 Capri owned by one of our teachers back in the early 80's. Good job he didn't own a Ferrari eh?:D

Evening folks

Well I got a couple of pics of the said Audi as it was still there, what do you think?

On a closer look there is a a few bits of rust and does need a wash, but I'm still in love with it.

My Dads mate worked in a VW garage in the early 80s. e got a full on run through the country from him in a Quattro.

I remember thinking it was odd there being seatbelts in the back.

My other childhood fantasy cars were the Lamborghini Countach from Cannonball run (also giving a love of busty women in cat suits) and the Trans-am from Smokey and the Bandit.

Love those pics mate, especially the S-pack 3.0S.

My brother had a MK1 3.0 in pea green (& yes the bonnet had been sprayed black)

Had a full roll cage & more guages than Concord, or thats how I remember it.

He later got a 2.8 like the one above. Sadly he died a couple of years ago from cancer, having just got himself a Hyundai coupe.(never did get to out for a run with him in it:(:(:()

Ah well he contacted me from the grave, when a letter came with a cheque, from his Partner saying it was what was left of his funeral fund & I was to spend it on the car I bought the weekend he died(the Skoda in my sig). A trip to Jabba followed shortly after that  I still can feel him in there with me sometimes, he's smiling as much as me.:o
