Difference between CAI and DV whooosh??

Featured Replies

My VRS is fitted with a unknown metal DV and an unnamed cone K&N style air filter.

On acceleration and lift off I get a very long drawn out whoosh noise and I think this all comes from the Filter rather than the DV.

I recently came across another VRS in Canterbury and he was revving his engine to catch my attention  I noticed however that he got a very sharp DV sound much different to mine. Can anyone explain this to me or tell me which set up gives the best sound.

Cheers

hi

do you know if urs is a recirculating dump valve?

i have an atmospheric bailey an it makes a puu- tis noise it sounds really mechanical, but at low revs just before it dumps it makes a kind of wooka wooka noise which i think is unreleased air passing through turbo

does urs make a similar noise,

an i think the other dump valve on the vrs you saw is a hks they are high pitched

mine is a recirculating valve. I didnt think VRs worked very well on atmospheric valves.

Mine only makes a long sucking noise and I dont get any sort of "puu-tis.

yeah my dump valve sometimes puts car into limp mode but its a twin piston an is made for the car i think single pistons dont work, i just like the noise

i was thinking of getting a recirc but not sure what they sound like,

is it like a chatter or a faint psss?
