Unable to align throttle body - error.

Featured Replies

Morning!

Yesterday I had a slight hickup with my car, it made a strange noise whilst pulling away in first (sounded like the exhaust was blowing, and vibration through the central console)... it only occured when pulling away, once up to speed it was fine... and it's not doing it at all yesterday. The road conditions were VERY bad, lots of snow and we were crawling at about 25 on a motorway.

Although the noise has gone, I would like to know what it was (any ideas would be appreciated). I've been doing some investigation with VAG-COM before I take it to the garage for further investigation, all seems in order... no fault codes and no problems with the output tests.

I went to align the throtte, so I selected engine, then measuring blocks, then 060 go... then in the thirs box (on the far right of the 060) it said ERROR... the other two boxes gave the usual angle readings.

When I clicked "switch to advanced", It didn't make the usual noises as if it were adjusting.

I now have a fault code on the engine of throttle body adaption error... I've tried a second time without success.... Any ideas?

I'm going to try disconnecting the battery for a while now :thumbdwn:

Sorted now... disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes did the trick.

I also think the other problem is the dogbone mount... so I'll get that looked at on Monday.

Did you try to align the throttle body with the engine switched on?

Nope, engine off, ignition on.
